2017 FLORIDA YOUTH OF THE YEAR CELEBRATION
Being selected as a Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County Youth of the Year is the highest honors that a member can receive within the Boys & Girls Clubs program. This year we had the privilege to accompany Jasmin M. for the Florida Youth of the Year Celebration in Orlando, FL, April 6-8, 2017. The Florida Youth of the Year Celebration is where the selection process takes place to determine who will represent the Boys & Girls Club for the Regional Youth of the Year.
We are extremely proud of Jasmine, she has made so many contributions to her family, school, community, and to her home Club, the Dr. Harold Reitman Boys & Girls Club. We want to celebrate the opportunity that we had to have all 11 Youth of the Years from each Club go to the Florida Youth of the Year Celebration to support Jasmine during the interviews and also represent Boys & Girls Club of Broward County in this excellent state event.
This year, Youth of the Years and alternate from each Club, received the great opportunity to attend the Dale Carnegie Leadership Course. The course allowed the youth to gain knowledge and confidence in public speaking. The tools that they learned in the course allowed the members to be prepared for a successful future.
