College Corner

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County offer the College & Career Corner to help teen club members prepare for their next steps after high school graduation.


The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County provides high-quality enrichment programs for teens by preparing them for SAT prep curriculum.

This 60-hour SAT Prep course created by American Heritage Schools is offered to our Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County club members for free. This course is designed specifically for students who might benefit from a review of the more foundational concepts tested on the SAT. The course also teaches easy to follow test-taking strategies that help maximize each student’s scoring potential. Students learn essential math, reading, and writing skills at a pace that will ensure success.


The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County provides the knowledge, skills, and academic preparation needed to successfully enter the college journey.

Developed and taught by our expert College Advising team at American Heritage Schools, this course provided to The Boys & Girls Clubs Broward County club members with a head start in understanding how to navigate the tasks and tools for finding the right colleges and for applying to them. Topics include goal-setting, exploring types of colleges, preparing a college resume, application types, college essays, scholarships and financial aid, and more! 


The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County offers county-wide and state-wide college tours to colleges, universities, and vocational schools.

Some of the participating colleges and universities include Florida Atlantic University, the University of Florida, Florida State University, Broward College and Nova Southeastern University.


Construction Career Day
The Generals Club Construction Program exposes teen Club members to a career in the construction trades. Club members attend monthly showcases that highlight careers in crane operation, plumbing, roofing, general constructing, and project management.

Annual Career Day American Heritage
The Annual Career Day at American Heritage School affords Club members the opportunity to explore various careers including accounting, entrepreneurship, marketing, aviation, automotive, medicine, real estate and more!


The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County provides over $50,000 in scholarships to high school graduates.

The Scholarships include the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County “Nan Knox”¬†Scholarship, Gary Rotella Stars Prepaid Scholarship, and the Marti Huizenga Broward College Scholarship!
