Grant Research Assistant
REPORTS TO:Â Grant Administrator
GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Grant Research Assistant is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and pursuing grant opportunities that align with the organization’s strategic goals. This role also involves meticulous data management and reporting to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
JOB SEGMENTS:
GRANT RESEARCH:
- Conduct comprehensive grant searches to identify funding sources, including foundations, corporations, government agencies (local, state, and federal), private foundations, and individual donors.
- Utilize databases, online resources, and networking to discover new grant opportunities.
- Assess the alignment between potential grant missions, priorities, and the organization’s goals.
- Evaluate the eligibility criteria, grant amounts, reporting requirements, and application processes of prospective funders.
- Maintain a grant tracking system to monitor deadlines, submissions, and awards.

PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT:
- Assist as needed to research, write, and submit compelling grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
- Gather and analyze data to support grant proposals and demonstrate program impact.
- Collaborate with program staff and other stakeholders to gather information for grant proposals.
- Assist in drafting and editing proposal components, including needs assessments, program descriptions, and evaluation plans.
- Ensure proposal language is clear, concise, and persuasive.
- Assist in the compilation of all required proposal documents and supporting materials.
- Ensure that proposals are formatted according to funder specifications.
- Assist in the electronic submission of proposals through online grant portals.
- Maintain organized digital and physical files of all grant-related documents.

GRANT REPORTING:
- Assist with preparing grant reports to funders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements.
- Support timely and accurate submission of grant reports and required documentation.
- Track and monitor grant outcomes and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for grant reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., public administration, non-profit management, or business) from an accredited university preferred but not required, and a minimum of one year of grant experience.
- Must be proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, data management and reporting tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with different Club staff and other grantors/vendors.
- Ability to work effectively and be flexible in an intermittently fast-paced, rapidly changing, and deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently but as part of a team, and develop solutions to issues that arise.
- Ability to generate and implement methods for improving current processes and/or programs.
