A Club Legacy to President: Celebrating Torey Alston BGCBC Alumni Hall of Fame Inductee
Torey Alston, President and CEO of Broward College, was inducted into Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County Alumni Hall of Fame—an honor that reflects the lasting impact the Club had on shaping his character, leadership, and commitment to service. As a proud alumnus of the Nan Knox Club / Linda & Douglas Von Allmen Campus, Alston distinguished himself early on as a stellar Club member whose dedication to academic success set him apart. His commitment to learning was recognized by mentors who saw in him both discipline and drive.
During his time at the Club, Alston developed the leadership skills and sense of responsibility that would guide his future. Through mentorship, positive peer engagement, and a focus on education, he learned the value of hard work, accountability, and giving back. The Club environment helped him build confidence, form meaningful relationships, and understand the importance of uplifting others—principles that continue to define his approach to leadership and community building today.
A Broward native and son of community college graduates, Alston has gone on to serve in numerous leadership roles across the State of Florida, always grounded in the lessons he first learned as a young Club member. His journey stands as a powerful example of how a strong foundation in academics, mentorship, and community can inspire a lifetime of impact.
We are so proud to recognize him as an alumnus and celebrate his continued commitment to making a difference.
