BGCBC at MODS Update
Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County (BGCBC) is proud of the impact made from our partnership with the Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS), which provided young people with unique opportunities for hands-on STEM learning, exploration, and educational enrichment.
Effective August 28, 2026, the BGCBC at MODS pilot program is paused. We are grateful to MODS, our families, staff, and community partners who helped make this innovative partnership possible.
BGCBC remains committed to ensuring young people have access to high-quality Club programming. Families who have any questions may contact the Club Operations team for assistance.

12:00PM – 7:00PM - Broward County Schools Teacher Planning Days
8:00AM – 6:00PM - Saturdays – Club closed

Program Components

- BGCBC four pillars of impact: Academic Success, Character & Leadership, Health & Well-being, Life & Workforce Readiness
- STEM Learning facilitated by Museum educators through exploration, demonstrations and projects developed and designed by youth over the course of the year-long Club program
- Monthly special activities including IMAX® films; science theater shows, cooking classes, simulator rides, Geodome planetarium experiences, Makerspace tinkering workshops
- Outdoor physical activities in MODS’ Science Park, Food Forest, Nature Explore and in nearby Esplanade Park
- Throughout the year, youth will engage in dynamic, hands-on projects that spark creativity and innovation, culminating in showcases at public events hosted by both the MODS and BGCBC
- Membership will include family engagement programs and free museum admission provided to MODS/BGCBC Club members
- Quarterly excursions to participate in cultural experiences throughout Broward County
- Learning & Life Skill Workshops on subjects including money management/banking, first aid, childcare, chess, letter writing and public speaking
Project Need & Impact
This incredible new partnership will provide a safe and supportive environment, promote academic, social and emotional development and enhance a love for learning in an immersive museum setting that inspires curiosity, imagination and creativity. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County at MODS program will engage youth from diverse backgrounds, foster a sense of belonging, provide mentorship and guidance and open doors to youth who might otherwise lack access to enriching experiences in a museum.
