Talent, Benefits and Culture Generalist
REPORTS TO: Talent, Benefits & Culture Manager
GENERAL FUNCTION:
To assist in the administration of Human Resource functions in coordination with the Talent, Benefit and Culture Senior Director and Talent, Benefits and Culture Manager on talent acquisition, onboarding and orientation, including participation in local Job Fairs, staff retention, volunteer coordination, and the enhancement of the organization’s culture. The Talent, Benefits, and Culture Generalist (TBCG) will embrace the organization’s technology platforms and develop new processes for great employee work experience. Provide guidance to the BGCBC employees as well as comply with all applicable laws and regulations and be consistent with Boys & Girls Clubs mission and values.
KEY ROLES:
LEADERSHIP:
1. Support the TBC Manager and Senior Director and provide recommendations to staff and volunteer leadership.
2. Support employee relations, BGCBC’s employment culture, and recruitment, onboarding and orientation practices.
3. Represent BGCBC in local Job Fairs.
4. Work closely with ADP
5. Assist in the enhancement of policies, best practices, and procedures by streamlining technology into the HR Department and Volunteer Coordination
STRATEGIC PLANNING:
6. Contribute to HR operational strategic planning, talent acquisition and retention, Staff OnBoarding and Orientation, enhancing technological processes.
7. In concert with the TBC Manager and Senior Director, identify and evaluate opportunities to improve HR and volunteer policies, procedures and programs to ensure they meet Club needs and motivate effective performance of staff.
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:
8. Assist the TBC Manager and Senior Director in creating strategies that can control expenditure against budget, particularly in the areas of recruitment and onboarding…
9. Assist the TBC Manager and Senior Director in managing administrative and operational systems for maintaining all employment and personnel records, ensuring compliance with all legal and BGCA requirements.
10. Ensure a healthy and safe environment that complies with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
11. Ensure a productive work environment that encourages positive, effective working relationships and open communications, and that is respectful of the gender and cultural diversity of Club staff, volunteers, and members.
12. Support and assist in the recruitment and selection of staff with the qualifications necessary for successful performance, recommending recruitment sources and strategies and assuring the recruitment process and associated records are maintained in compliance with regulatory requirements.
PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT:
13. Develop collaborative partnerships with other Clubs, consultants, and vendors, as well as youth serving, professional and/ or not-for-profit organizations, to maintain professional credibility within the community.
MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS:
14. Develop and maintain a positive, respectful, and professional image of the BGCBC and stimulate interest in employment opportunities within Boys & Girls Clubs.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with BGCBC staff (professional and volunteers), to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
External: Maintain contact with other Clubs, vendors, consultants, organizations, government agencies, and others to achieve program goals and objectives, manage costs, share information, and resolve challenges.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
• 4-year College degree preferred but not necessary.
• At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources
• Enhanced knowledge in technology
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting Human Resources management.
• Current knowledge of the best practices in all areas of Human Resources.
