Bringing STEM to Life: BOSCH Supports Mobile Learning Labs for Broward County Youth Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County (BGCBC) has always been at the forefront of youth development, and thanks to a generous grant from BOSCH, their impact is about to get even more hands-on, innovative, and mobile. The new funding will support the launch of Mobile STEM Learning Labs, designed to deliver exciting, interactive engineering, coding, and robotics experiences directly to elementary and middle school students across the district. These mobile units are innovation hubs designed to spark curiosity, fuel creativity, and foster essential 21st-century skills. Making STEM Accessible and Engaging With BOSCH’s support, the STEM Learning Labs will serve as powerful extensions of the traditional classroom, especially in communities where access to high-quality STEM education is limited. Each lab will feature hands-on learning stations, interactive technologies, and real-world challenges that bring science, technology, engineering, and math to life. Through guided experiments, collaborative projects, and problem-solving activities, Club members and teens will gain exposure to areas like: Mechanical and electrical engineering Basic and advanced coding principles Robotics and automation Team-based design thinking These experiences not only make STEM fun and accessible but also help Club members build critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills that will benefit them for years to come. A Future-Focused Partnership BOSCH’s commitment to innovation and education aligns perfectly with BGCBC’s mission to empower all young people to reach their full potential. By investing in these Mobile STEM Learning Labs, BOSCH is helping bridge the gap between today’s classroom and tomorrow’s careers—especially in fast-growing STEM fields. On the Road to Innovation The mobile labs will rotate throughout the school district and Boys & Girls Club locations, ensuring widespread access and continuity of learning. By embedding these experiences in students’ daily lives, the program ensures STEM is not only something students learn about—but something they live and do.From building their first robot to coding their own apps, students will walk away not just with knowledge, but with confidence and a spark of inspiration that could define their educational journey and future careers. The Story Behind the Wood

The Boys and girls club logo encased in wood

The Story Behind the Wood En español At first glance, it’s just wood. But look closer… and you’ll see a story carved in silence. The first version didn’t work. The second one failed too —though it hurt a little less.  The third came closer. The first version didn’t work. The second one failed too —though it hurt a little less.  The third came closer. The fourth took a different path. This clock reminds you of the times you failed and tried again The first version didn’t work. The second one failed too —though it hurt a little less.  The third came closer. The fourth took a different path. This clock reminds you of the times you failed and tried again The fourth took a different path. This clock reminds you of the times you failed and tried again The first version didn’t work. The second one failed too —though it hurt a little less.  The third came closer. The fourth took a different path. This clock reminds you of the times you failed and tried again The fourth took a different path. This clock reminds you of the times you failed and tried again And the last?It became a completely new design, yet carried the same concept at its core. An evolution. A transformation. A reflection of every lesson learned. Every mistake shaped the journey.Every failed attempt left behind both a scar and a stepping stone.Nothing was wasted. This project isn’t just about crafting something with your hands. It’s about honoring the process.Enduring when nothing seems to move forward.Trusting that even in the confusion… something is being built. The wood speaks.Of struggle. Of doubt. Of starting over. And —if you’re patient enough— of beauty. The final piece is a clock. Not by chance.Because in this story, time has been the true artisan.Time that heals.Time that teaches.Time that refines what haste would only ruin. Each tick of that clock doesn’t just measure minutes. It marks every time you failed and tried again. It tracks quiet growth, invisible progress, and unwavering belief. Don’t fear failure.Fear standing still. Keep creating.Keep trying.Keep believing. Because what feels like a mistake today…could become your most honest masterpiece tomorrow. And what begins as a simple attempt…with time, courage, and intention, can one day inspire others not to give up. The final piece proves it.The design changed. The soul didn’t.And now, with every second it marks, it whispers this: Every great change begins with a spark…and becomes a legacy — when time is honored. — Manuel Casas
